Wike Commissions Phase 1 of Kuje–Gwagwalada Dual Carriageway, Strengthening FCT Connectivity

Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, has announced the commissioning of Phase 1 of the Kuje–Gwagwalada Dual Carriageway, describing the project as a major step toward improving connectivity, security, and economic development within the FCT.

Wike noted that the project was initiated following consultations with stakeholders across the Area Councils, where concerns were raised about poor road infrastructure and insecurity. He explained that the completed road will unlock agricultural potential, open new residential layouts, and improve access for security agencies.

The Minister further disclosed that the second phase of the corridor is already underway and is expected to be completed before the end of the year, enabling smoother movement between Kuje and Gwagwalada.
